Server tools

Sent, converted, deleted

Three tools need a server. Here is what the file does while it is there.

Sent

The document goes to the conversion service over an encrypted connection. This is the step the other nine tools do not have.

Converted

The structure is rebuilt — paragraphs from text runs, cells from a grid, or a page rendered from an Office document.

Held, briefly

The result waits for sixty minutes so you can download it.

Deleted

After the hour the result is removed. Miss the window and the conversion runs again from scratch.

Which is also a limit worth naming

  • Keep your converted file afterwards — a server-side result is held for 60 minutes and then deleted

That cuts both ways. It means nothing accumulates on a server you do not control, and it means the result is not somewhere to come back to tomorrow. Download it while it exists.
